The Axiom Shell is built for prolonged exposure in severe alpine conditions, where protection, structure, and reliability take precedence. Developed in collaboration with Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Rescue professionals, it was created to meet the needs of those operating in technical terrain under sustained snow, wind, and freezing rain.
The 140-denier face fabric is paired with a 4-layer Toray Dermizax system, combining a microporous hydrophobic membrane and a hydrophilic interior layer. This construction delivers stable, long-term waterproofing and internal moisture regulation without relying on open-pore technology, and it maintains performance even when the shell is saturated or heavily used.
Cut for alpine layering, the Axiom preserves range of motion for climbing and rescue scenarios. Pit zips allow mechanical venting during periods of high output, while the Dual-Access chest pocket enables clean access beneath pack straps or rescue systems. Every seam, pocket, and closure was refined for operation in serious winter environments, supporting those who stay out when others head in.

Inselberg is derived from the Germanic language, where it translates to "island mountain." This term originates from the combination of "Insel," meaning island, and "Berg," meaning mountain. The word aptly describes isolated peaks that rise prominently from otherwise flat landscapes, resembling islands amidst a sea of plains. This linguistic heritage underscores the brand’s connection to the rugged and sometimes solitary nature of mountaineering.
Geologically, an inselberg is formed through a process of selective erosion. Over time, wind, rain, and other environmental factors wear away the softer rock and sediment surrounding the formation, leaving behind the harder, more durable rock. This enduring core embodies the development and evolution of products at Inselberg.
